Resourcify joins the Alliance to Zero

Resourcify joins Alliance to Zero, bringing our expertise in circularity and closed-loop systems to help advance net-zero injection devices.

Resourcify has joined Alliance to Zero, a cross-industry consortium working to support the pharmaceutical sector’s transition towards net-zero injection devices.

As the circular operating system for material recovery, Resourcify helps businesses digitise waste management, uncover optimisation opportunities and orchestrate closed-loop recycling and take-back programmes. Through our membership, we will contribute our expertise in waste management, recycling and circular systems to help the Alliance develop practical solutions for injection devices.

The pharmaceutical industry faces significant decarbonisation challenges due to long and complex product lifecycles and the multi-component nature of drug delivery devices. Alliance to Zero believes that achieving net zero requires circularity, with closed-loop recycling programmes forming an essential part of the solution.

By adding Resourcify’s capabilities to the group, the Alliance is strengthening its ability to turn circular concepts into scalable, real-world models.

Commenting on the expanded membership, Alliance to Zero President Arne Kloke said:

“This is an exciting step for the Alliance, as we are adding a new member to our group for the first time. We have verified through our research that circularity is critical to realizing net zero injection devices. Resourcify is a key enabler to closing the loop and the experience and insight they contribute to the Alliance will allow us to co-create the solutions for circular concepts that we know are essential.”

Marwin Krull, Vice President of the Alliance, added:

“One of the key strengths of the Alliance is the high level of trust and openness with which we collaborate across the supply chain in pursuit of our goals, and we look forward to the creativity and expertise that the Resourcify team will bring through their membership.”

Felix Heinricy, CBDO and Managing Director at Resourcify, said:

“There is a natural synergy between the ambition of the Alliance to Zero and the work we do at Resourcify in waste management and circular solutions. Working within the Alliance offers a unique opportunity to collaborate right across the pharma supply chain and to offer real solutions to the complex challenge of waste management, recycling and circularity for injection devices. We are looking forward to getting started on designing potential solutions to those challenges alongside the other member organisations, each of whom brings their own unique and expert perspective.”

Alliance to Zero has established workstreams focused on new concepts and business models for circular injection devices. Through our expertise in material tracking, waste management and recycling orchestration, Resourcify will help accelerate the development of these concepts into practical solutions.

About Alliance to Zero

Alliance to Zero is a consortium of eight organisations representing key parts of the injection-device supply chain. Its members are Ypsomed, SCHOTT, Datwyler, Sharp, Schreiner MediPharm, Körber, Harro Höfliger and Resourcify.

The Alliance aims to support the pharmaceutical sector’s transition towards net-zero emissions in line with the Paris Agreement and recognises that meaningful decarbonisation will require collaboration across the full supply chain.

About Resourcify

Resourcify is building a circular future where sustainability drives business value.

Our circular operating system helps companies digitise, automate and optimise waste, recycling and material-recovery processes. It enables organisations to reduce costs, improve sustainability performance and simplify regulatory compliance.

By enabling closed-loop material tracking, Resourcify helps businesses keep resources in use for longer and reduce waste. Since 2018, the platform has powered more than three million waste orders annually for leading brands including Johnson & Johnson, Hornbach and McDonald’s, while helping recycling partners improve efficiency and retain key customers.
